Lionel Messi scored again in Inter Miami's 4-0 win over Charlotte FC in the Leagues Cup quarterfinals on Friday night. This was Messi's eighth goal since joining Inter Miami in August 2023. He has also had two assists in his five appearances for the club. Messi's goal against Charlotte was his first in the Leagues Cup. He also scored twice in Inter Miami's 3-0 win over Club Tijuana in the round of 16. Inter Miami will face Liga MX side Pumas UNAM in the Leagues Cup semifinals on August 24. The match will be played at Inter Miami's home stadium, DRV PNK Stadium. In other news, Messi has been named to the Argentina squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia.
