Messi shines in Quarter Final



Lionel Messi scored again in Inter Miami's 4-0 win over Charlotte FC in the Leagues Cup quarterfinals on Friday night. This was Messi's eighth goal since joining Inter Miami in August 2023. He has also had two assists in his five appearances for the club.

Messi's goal against Charlotte was his first in the Leagues Cup. He also scored twice in Inter Miami's 3-0 win over Club Tijuana in the round of 16.

Inter Miami will face Liga MX side Pumas UNAM in the Leagues Cup semifinals on August 24. The match will be played at Inter Miami's home stadium, DRV PNK Stadium.

In other news, Messi has been named to the Argentina squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia. The matches will be played on September 2 and 5, respectively.

Messi is expected to be a key player for Argentina in their quest to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. He will be looking to add to his record 86 goals for Argentina, which is the most by any player in men's international football.

Messi is also expected to be a key player for Inter Miami in their quest to make the MLS playoffs this season. He has already shown his ability to score goals in MLS, and he will be looking to help Inter Miami challenge for a top spot in the Eastern Conference.

Head coach Tata Martino has confirmed that Lionel Messi is set to participate in Inter Miami's US Open Cup semifinal.

Inter Miami head coach Gerardo 'Tata' Martino confirmed to the press that Lionel Messi is slated to participate in the upcoming US Open Cup match against Cincinnati.  Following their recent victory in the Leagues Cup on Saturday, Inter Miami, with Messi in tow, is gearing up for the US Open semifinal clash against FC Cincinnati.  Martino acknowledged that while Messi has been in remarkable form since joining Miami, he will eventually need some rest due to the substantial minutes he's logged.  "We've always known that at some point, he'll need to take a break due to the extensive playing time," Martino stated ahead of Monday's practice.  "However, it's clear that Wednesday won't be that day. Unless he expresses a desire to rest, he'll continue to be in the lineup."
